First day when we arrived in Foz do Iguaçu on the Brazil side we checked out a samba show. It was quite an incredible performances from various South American cultures.
If you want to read more about it check out it's wiki entry here: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foz_do_Igua%C3%A7u
Here are some pictures from the Brazil side:
For those who know my obsession of Michael Jackson's music, doesn't this look like "can you feel it"?
It's fantastic that I actually get to cross the border and check out Argentina! For being a fan of the team for all my life visiting the country itself was more than a dream come true!
Here are some pictures from the Argentina side :)
Interesting things happen to us on this trip all over the place. In Argentina, at the park, the train decides to stop working so we had to walk the rest of the way. Then when heading back we casually went to the bus stop early but missed two buses while waiting right at the stop. Firstly because some of us were checking out the souvenir store and some of us were chasing the bus. We decided to take the next bus. While Shelly, Asif and I were waiting the next bus came to take us to the border but no sight of Alnoor uncle. So we saw two buses leave the station without us. There were these two brazilians who took our lead and didn't get on the bus so they got stuck too. When Alnoor uncle showed up he was completely forgiven by me as he had gone to get a souvenir for me. Then finally we get to the border and the bus left at the Brazil side since it took a couple of mins to fill out some paperwork. So we ended up waiting again for the next bus which didn't come until after 8! It was getting pretty late and we could have had to stay the night in Argentina or something but we had a plane to catch at 6:05 am so all plans were in trouble if we didn't get back. Thankfully we saw a bus and we just paid the amount rather than wait for our actual bus to use our transfers, funny thing it was literally 2 dollars to get on any of the buses that went by!. Also a funny story where Asif and I tried to bargain with a street vendor and ended up paying her more than she was selling it because we didn't have pesos that we could use but had reais, Cdn $ and US $. We ended paying her more for the bow and arrow for Shelly because she really needed it. It was quite entertaining.
Now the final trek back to Rio and then on my way back to Ottawa.
